Why Trustner exists
Most households meet the financial industry through a product: a policy from a relative, a deposit from a bank. Rarely does anyone ask first what the money is for. Trustner began as a practice in Guwahati to change the order of that conversation.
The practice set itself rules: tie every recommendation to a stated goal, and disclose what it earns.
Why separate companies
Selling mutual funds and broking insurance are regulated by different bodies under different rules. As the practice grew, each business was placed in its own company with its own registration, so that a client always knows which regulator stands behind what they are buying.
That is why you will see two names on this site, and why each page says which one operates it. The registrations are listed here.
Milestones
The start
Ram Shah, a Certified Financial Planner, starts a practice in Guwahati built on one idea: plan first, product second.
2023
Trustner Asset Services Pvt. Ltd. is incorporated to carry the mutual fund distribution business under its own AMFI registration, ARN-286886.
2024
Trustner Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd. is incorporated and holds IRDAI Direct Broker Licence No. 1067, so clients can have insurance compared across insurers.
Today
15,000+ clients and a team of 80+ across 7 cities, served by the two regulated companies.

What Trustner is building next, and the rules it keeps while doing it.
One company for each regulated business
Each business the group enters is placed in its own company, under its own licence, and starts as a section of this site. The group is setting up a third company to place home, personal and business loans with banks and other lenders. It will distribute loans; it will not lend its own money. It is not operating yet and takes no enquiries.
Service in the languages of the Northeast
English is the language of this site today. Assamese and Hindi versions of the main pages are planned, so that a family in the Northeast can read about its money in its own language.
What does not change
- Every recommendation is tied to a goal the client has stated.
- What the group earns is disclosed.
- No company in the group promises or guarantees a return.
- The company you are dealing with, and its licence, is named before you start.
